Milan-based R101 boasts a new DHD mixer array. The station is part of Mediaset SpA, one of Italy’s most active media groups, and transmits via terrestrial digital and online. Its focus is music, entertainment and performance-related news. DHD’s Milan-based distribution partner BVmedia SRL supervised the installation. According to BVmedia, the purpose of the installation was to increase the station’s operational efficiency and upgrade signal quality.
“The solution we recommended and have integrated includes DHD RX2 modular mixing consoles for use in the production and presentation control rooms plus two TX compact touchscreen mixers for the newsroom edit suites,” says Roberto Zeccara, BVmedia’s senior project manager. “We also designed, installed and tested an audio routing matrix to support program contributions from five different studios.
“We chose DHD’s RX2 and TX mixers for their operational versatility, ease of set-up and customization, plus their impressive combination of signal quality, reliability, space efficiency, robust build and price. They were also the logical solution in terms of ergonomics because the integral menu displays on DHD mixers give operators fast access to the parameters they need at each stage of their production and post workflow.”
DHD’s RX2 comprises two modules — a central and fader — which can be combined and configured to match a wide range of radio and TV production environments such as on-air studios, main control rooms and OB vehicles. RX2 configuration scales easily from small production units with six or 12 faders to large consoles with up to 60 faders.
DHD’s TX is an ultra-compact tabletop touchscreen mixer optimized for daily operation wherever space is at a premium. Typical applications include news desks, edit suites and communications link vehicles. The TX has an IPS LCD monitor with capacitive touchscreen faders, six hardware pushbuttons, and two assignable potentiometers.
