Hyundai India has announced the price of the all-new fourth-generation Tucson. Since it is a CKD model, the price expectation of the all-new Tucson remained quite high. However, the brand has pulled a surprise by pricing the base variant significantly lower than the expected price of Rs 30 lakh. Hyundai has launched the completely revamped version of its flagship SUV for India, the Tucson. The fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson, which made its global debut in September 2020, is now available with petrol-automatic and diesel-automatic powertrain combinations.

The all-new Tucson gets a price tag of Rs 27.70 lakh. Hyundai is yet to reveal the full price list of the all-new Tucson.

Compared to the third-generation model it replaces, the new Hyundai Tucson is 150mm longer and adapts the latest ‘sensual sportiness’ design language of the Korean carmaker. The result is an extremely sharp-looking SUV, with an edgy-looking parametric grille with integrated daytime running LEDs and split all-LED headlamps placed on the front bumper.

The new Hyundai Tucson also gets a large number of cuts and creases, flared wheel arches, body cladding and 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels on the side profile, and claw-shaped LED tail lamps connected with an LED light bar. At the rear, the bumper has a diamond-pattern finish and faux silver skid plate, while the roof spoiler hides the rear wiper and washer.

On the inside, the new Hyundai Tucson showcases a new identity with a cleaner and more futuristic-looking cabin, which comes with dual-tone black and light grey leather upholstery as standard. Both the variants come equipped with a rectangular 10.25-inch full-TFT instrument console and a cascading 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The centre console, which flows down in a wraparound fashion, also houses touch-sensitive controls for the dual-zone automatic climate control.

Other standard features in both the variants of the Hyundai Tucson are a panoramic sunroof, powered driver’s seat, 64-colour ambient lighting, 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat, push start-stop button with remote engine start, wireless charger, 8-speaker BOSE audio system, four drive modes (eco, normal, sport and smart), Hyundai Bluelink connected car technology and over-the-air updates. The list of standard safety features in the new Tucson includes a blind spot monitor, six airbags, electronic stability control, hill start assist, downhill brake control, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, reverse camera and rain-sensing wipers.

The more-premium Signature variants get a few additional features, with the star highlight being the ADAS package. It includes forward collision avoidance assist for car, pedestrian, cycle and junction turning, blind spot collision avoidance assist, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, driver attention warning, safe exit warning, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane following assist, high beam assist, leading vehicle departure alert, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist and surround view monitor. This variant also gets heated and ventilated front seats, a memory function for the powered driver’s seat, 8-way powered front co-passenger seat and a hands-free tailgate.

There are two engine options in the new Hyundai Tucson, which have been retained from the previous-generation model. However, this time, there are no manual variants for Tucson. The 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine produces 156 bhp of maximum power and 192 Nm of maximum torque and is solely available with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. On the other hand, the 2.0-litre diesel engine makes 186 bhp of maximum power and 416 Nm of maximum torque and is available only with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The AWD option, available only with the diesel-automatic Signature variant, also gets 4WD lock mode and multi-terrain modes (sand, snow and mud).
