Samsung has launched a new rugged Android tablet named Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro. It is meant to be used even under the harshest of conditions and to withstand accidental falls from heights. It is mainly aimed at enterprise customers but anyone can choose to buy and start using it.
The tablet comes with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. It has MIL-STD-810H certification for withstanding extreme altitudes, temperatures, vibration, and humidity. It is capable of enduring falls up to 1 meter and if used with the bundled protective case, it can endure up to 1.2 meters.
The Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro sports a 10.1-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels) TFT LCD display. Under the hood, it has an undisclosed 6nm octa-core processor which is speculated to be Qualcomm's Snapdragon 778G. It is available in two configuration variants: 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. Both variants offer microSD card support up to 1TB.
In the camera department, it has a 13-megapixel single rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and an 8-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture. Only the rear camera has autofocus and LED flash support. The whole package is powered by a 7,600mAh battery which is user-replaceable. Other features include S Pen support, 5G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, WiFi 6, and USB Type-C port.
Samsung is yet to reveal Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro pricing details. However, it did reveal that the tablet will be sold in some parts of Europe starting in September itself. It will expand to North America, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia later this year.
